Halloween Baby!
This book was made for Ronnie, better known as the best freshwater fisherman in the North East. I went out to his favorite fishing spot, Morses Pond in Natick/Wellesley and took lots of photos before I finally chose one for the cover.
Then, with help from his son, Mike, I looked for his favorite lures, or lures he uses often. I used these as references when I drew the illustrations for the lined pages and opening page. The illustrations were scanned and inserted into the layout, and the pages were printed.
The strong binders board is covered with a green lokta paper, and the book is coptic stitched using a blue waxed linen thread.
We gave it to him yesterday during his birthday celebration, and I think its his favorite gift! (well, other than the dancing frankenstein that sings the monster mash! and maybe the trout socks!)
Now Ronnie can keep a record of all of his fishing adventures, and keep track of the hundreds of lures in his room!
I also made cute skull cakes for the celebration! :) Happy Halloweenie Birthday Ronnie!
